“When you start seeing your worth, you’ll find it harder to stay around people who don’t” ~ Unknown
Almost on a daily basis I find myself talking to entrepreneurs who are knowingly undercharging
for their product and services. This was alarming to me. Why? Because if they are
undervaluing their services, there was another area in their life that their self-worth was not in alignment.
It is my belief, that everything that we suffer physically is associated with an emotional
attachment. This week I was speaking with a potential client, who was significantly undercharging for her wedding services.
This young lady was charging $1500 for a wedding, and advised that her competition charged
anywhere from $5000 plus for services. She said that 100% her skills were excellent and even provided
more value than other photographers in the area. One potential client who had a budget of $10,000
would not hire her, as she didn’t see the “VALUE”. She was lacking the confidence to increase her pricing.
I asked her, where is another area in your life, where you feel undervalued?
She immediately said in her relationship with her father. She was surprised at how
I could correlate the relationship with her father, and how it impacted her career.
She is not alone, in looking for approval in others. At times, we give our personal
power away to others. The approval and acceptance that should matter the most is your own.
The time has come to regain your personal power. Believe in Yourself.
As Norman Vincent Peale says,
“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence
in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.”
